Italian-born Ezio and Mark ‘Booga’ Fowell, hail from Cambridge and have developed their own sensitive style, a mixture of rock and folk full of gorgeous acoustic melodies and intelligent lyrics. They have been forerunners in the acoustic music scene for over two decades. Always difficult to describe, their music ranges from a highly rhythmical, almost manic Latin feeling rock, to delicate dreamy ballads that are heart-breakingly honest and deeply poetic.
Tonight they will be playing songs from “Daylight Moon”, their 8th studio album. From the crunching blues-rock guitars of “Crushed” to the Jazz rhythms of “The Gypsy Song”, there’s plenty of genre hopping on show here.
“The visceral honesty of front man Ezio Lunedi’s lyrics is laid bare in tracks like “Indian”, an ode to feeling overcome by forces beyond his control, and “Dirty Little Secret”, a Nick Drake-esque ditty where he tries to unpick the emotions of an unnamed muse that he can’t quite suss out.”
They will also be playing some songs from their extensive back catalogue
+ Martha Paton-a talented young singer/songwriter/guitarist from Fleet.
