I live in Headley Down so am quite local to Ludshott Common. In response to the statement querying what NT have done to inform/discuss the plans to fence in the Common, I believe they have done quite a lot. At […]
Yep agreed Paul although I think Nextdoor has potential. You can’t argue with the power of Facebook even my 93 year old mum loves it.

We are moving…
Last updated 17th August
We will be using the rest of this homepage to keep you up to date with progress and so the first thing we have moved is the activity stream – there is a link to this in the Activity menu top right ‘All Activity’
When we are moving…
In two weeks time we are moving the grayshott.com you know and love to a new village website – hopefully moving day will be on 1st Sept
Where we are moving…
The new website will still be at www.grayshott.com and will continue to provide the latest news, upcoming events and an up to date directory of local businesses and organisations. There will also be some general information about Grayshott, a special section for Grayshott Parish Council and our generous sponsors will be moving with us.
The current website which spans 2010 – 2017 will also be moved to an archive site along with the original website 2000 – 2010 and both should remain accessible online for those interested in gazing at the rich tapestry of Grayshott life since the millennium.
Some facilities will not be making the move to the new website so for new forum discussions and classifieds please register on our Nextdoor neighbourhood network or join our Grayshott community group on Facebook – see below for more details.
Making the move…
Moving websites, like moving house, takes time to pack things up prior to the move, a short time with no fixed abode, and time to unpack after a nice cup of tea.
We will endeavour to keep the time without a working village website to an absolute minimum.
Packing the boxes…
The packing has already started and this is the countdown to the removal van turning up – we’ll let you know when the countdown starts next week
5. Close registration for new members
4. Close the Grayshott Forum to new topics and posts
3. Members will no longer be able to post so we can start the archive process
2. Members will no longer be able to login
1. Anything else we have forgotten
Put the kettle on.
Whilst you can please continue using the website as normal. The following list may help to explain a few things…
Please continue to post news items or group updates as normal. News items posted prior to the move will be copied across.
Please continue to post upcoming events on your group as normal and try to post any events in August before you lose the ability to post. Events posted prior to the move will be copied across.
If you created a group page for your Grayshott business or organisation it has probably already been added to the new website directory. If not, after the move, it will be easy to register and add yours then.
We are not moving member accounts to the new website as only members who administer a business of organisation will need to be registered on the new site
We will be inviting some of those admins to signup to the new website prior to the move to help us test it out, and the rest can sign up after the move. Admins will be connected to their business or organisation so they can edit the details and post news and events on the new website.
Members will also stop receiving all email notifications from grayshott.com after it has moved so to keep in touch with what’s on, and going on, in Grayshott, don’t forget to drop in from time to time to see the latest news and upcoming events and check out the directory of local businesses and organisations.
Thank you to our Sponsors…
A huge thanks to all our sponsors who are all continuing to support the new website
I hope that answers all your questions but if you have any queries please email firstname.lastname@example.org before the move.
After the move please don’t email as it won’t work – use the contact form on the new website to contact us if you have any questions or problems.
Grayshott Community Group on Facebook…
If you are already on Facebook just visit the group and join. If you are not it is probably because you think Facebook is not for you – but this might just change your mind… We have 747 members who already have. If we can’t change yours then perhaps you can be persuaded to try this…
Nextdoor is a new neighbourhood networking website which enables neighbours to message each other and post just about everything and anything for other neighbours to see. Grayshott is currently the largest community, with 254 registered neighbours, at the centre of 11 neighbourhood areas, including Headley, Hindhead, Haslemere, and you can join your neighbourhood and become part of the network which currently has 1,186 members and is growing fast.
Once registered you can post general messages, items for sale, something (like a pet) you’ve lost, something (like another pet) you’ve found, ask for or make recommendations on local services, start a discussion, create a group and even post up local events. In fact it does just about everything that grayshott.com does. And just like grayshott.com the real power is in the email notifications which you can turn up or down, and on or off – from being notified of every single post to a simple daily digest of the days posts and upcoming events – and even better you don’t get it three times. So good in fact you’ll wonder where they got the ideas? It’s free and easy to use so please Join Nextdoor now and if you already have invite your neighbours.
Have you joined yet? What are you waiting for? It’s time to get a move on…
