Dear subscriber
Hope you had a good Easter break. Hasn't it all been happening in the last few weeks?
Very exciting what with volcanoes erupting, aeroplanes grounded, square refurbishments getting underway, the Grayshott gardeners spring showings, and election fever breaking out with our potential leaders masterfully debating on TV.
What do you reckon? Are we in for more of Gordon's gloom? Will there be an end to the contrails for some blue sky thinking? Could it be they were right - the futures bright? Or is government gold to be found at the end of a rainbow?
There is still time to catch the Stagers Little Shop of Horrors before it closes, which I have to say is an amazing production with some classic songs, brilliant performances, and terrific props - you really will believe a plant can talk. If you are a dentophobe, and lets face it we all are, this could well cure you for life. Now there's a guy who really enjoys his job, he'll make your dentist look like an angel.
Anyone for Croquet? The season starts today and Jim Grevatt invites you along to the Sportsground this very afternoon at 3pm and he'll take you through the hoops. Or any Friday afternoon will do.
Anyone for Tennis? The Grayshott Tennis club are holding an open day tomorrow at 2pm and invite you along for a chat and a cup of tea and if you fancy it, a quick knockabout. You know where the tennis courts are - they're still there.
Intermission - alternatively tomorrow you could throw with Phil at Grayshott Pottery, that is Wareham not Bates, and create a potty masterpiece on the wheel, which you can decorate before it's fired for you to keep - or throw away. Booking essential.
Phew! 22 degrees for the London Marathon on Sunday, so it's as well Annick & Phil Hollins have decided to walk it - but that's not as easy for them as it sounds - it's all in a good cause as they are raising money for STEPS the UK's only national charity that raises awareness of all lower limb disabilities.
Next week at the Club we have two lots of live music with Jazz on Tuesday and Ska Wars on Saturday, that is if we can drag sportsfans away from their new 10 foot wide screen.
Lets do launch. You are all invited to the new Grayshott Community Plan being launched on Wednesday evening at the village hall and also to the launch of the new Grayshott Support Network on Thursday morning at the Pub.
The Royal Junior School has an open afternoon next Friday and if you have any little ones, I'm told, PK Pre-School have a few places left for September.
Have a happy St. George's day, I'm sorry we can't invite you over to the square for tea, maybe next year.
