Dear subscriber
Since the last newsletter the Sport & Recreation in Grayshott debate has gathered pace with a veritable marathon taking place on the messageboard - so thank goodness this weekend we can all rise to the challenge for Sport Relief.
I have already been told off for last weeks missive where it appears I fell off the chain linked fence and lost my usual neutral objectivity over the pros and cons of selling the tennis court land to build a new pavilion, for which I apologise to all. The Annual Parish Assembly is only a week away and although the busy agenda doesn't mention the topic, I'm sure it will get a good knockabout in the open forum, and I hope there will not be too much love lost between the main players.
I hope you enjoyed the Rock'n'Horror Panto Show which many have said was the best panto yet. I wonder what treats are in store for next years production which will mark a quarter century of itchy wigs and looking behind us.
Not wishing to be out horrored by the panto luvvies, the stagers have set out their store and are busy rehearsing for the masticating musical masterpiece that is Little Shop of Horrors and tickets are already on sale at Grayshott Books.
So what are you up to this weekend?
Tonight you can rise to the challenge of Nick's sport relief quiz at the Social Club or alternatively get on down to the Fox & Pelican with live music from local band Beats Working
Saturday really is a sporting challenge with great endurance required for the three six nation rugby games in a row. The Social Club will be providing refreshments along the way to help you get through this, with additional pies and curries to maintain energy levels.
Classical music lovers will miss the England game however as it clashes with Grayshott Concerts inaugural production of the entire Messiah at St Luke's Church. Tickets have sold out, but there are always returns so phone Peter Harrison 714119 or give my poor mate Nick a ring 606931 - he has man flu and so has two £25 tickets going spare.
On Sunday if you are aged 55 to 70 and single and would like to meet similar for drinks, banter and friendship I suggest you go clubbin at the Fox. That is club 557 which meets at 12.30pm in the village pub - find new relationships and who knows what could grow from there.
Lets hope in whatever we choose to do this weekend, we can all rise to the challenge.
Have a good week ;-)
