Dear subscriber
It's just one week to go and you are advised to Book now for The Rock 'n' Horror Panto Show as tickets are selling fast at Grayshott Books for all three performances - 7.30pm Friday 12th and 2pm & 5pm on Saturday 13th March. Oh yes they are!
This years panto - the 24th - has without doubt the biggest star studded cast ever and no less than 12 sensational songs guaranteeing an entertaining show for adults and children alike.
Without giving the panto plot away I can tell you the 'Overshaw' motel run by Dolly, sporting a 9 to 5 o'clock shadow, is under threat from a ruthless rodent packing developer called Boris.
As often happens in pantoland, fiction often mirrors real life and the Undershaw hotel in Hindhead, former home of Sherlock Holmes author Arthur Conan Doyle, is under threat of development. You may wish to lend your support to a campaign being run by the Undershaw Preservation Trust to rescue this historic building intact and lodge your objections to the planning application to construct 8 dwellings so that an alternative rescue plan already in the pipeline is given a chance.
Local family butchers Kaighin and Daughter are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year and are giving away a commemorative re-usable bag to customers who spend more than £30. Send in your photo of Where's your bag been? to a monthly competition and you may win £30 with monthly winners entered for the £1,000 prize for the best photo of 2010.
The Social Club has it's monthly Karaoke night tonight, perhaps an opportunity for those panto peeps to practice their numbers before the dress rehearsal, and tomorrow evening it's hosting the Spring Poker Challenge with a Texas Holdem tournament and one of Nick's hot and spicy suppers. Curry and Chips!
Tomorrow Grayshott Pottery is offering children an opportunity to Paint a gift of a mug or a plate for their mums which will be fired in time for Mothers Day which is on Sunday 14th March. The Fox & Pelican will no doubt be in great demand and manager Kim recommends you book early to avoid disappointment.
Have a good weekend y'all.
