Dear subscriber

Dr Karl JenkinsAs the "summer" break gets underway there is not much in the way of events to talk of but in the news is the exciting announcement from Vivien Harrison, artistic director of Grayshott Concerts, that Karl Jenkins has become their new Patron There is also news of their next concert, Beethovens 3rd Symphony, "Eroica" on Saturday 12th September at St Luke's Church.

If you missed the Grayshott Gardeners Summer Show last weekend not to worry as you can now catch up on all the results and see some photos of the colourful displays online.

Also in the news this week is the retirement party held for Fanny Jones who has supervised so many of the villages children over the last 27 years at Grayshott Little Sunflowers, previously Grayshott Pre-school Playgroup, in the Village Hall.

Next Tuesday 28th July is the BIG Meeting and as always representatives of local businesses and organisations are welcome to join in at the Fox & Pelican starting at 6pm. If you fancy a bit of coarse fishing BIG Dick & Chris from Grayshott Tackle (I'm sure there is a joke in there somehwere) are organising a fun fishing contest on Wednesday afternoon 19th August followed by a slap up meal and prizegiving in the evening. So a chance to get your rod out (told you) at the Lythe Hill Hotel Pond and to sample the delights of the newly refurbished Kapadokya.

Have a good break.
