Dear subscriber
It seems the future of Grayshott Cricket Club is assured as their under 9's Lions become Two Counties Youth League Champions for the second year in a row. You are always welcome to go along to the sportsground to watch home games and all the fixtures can be found on the clubs excellent website. This Sunday they are hosting a fun 6 a side competition in the afternoon between 6 village teams - it promises to be most entertaining.
For the Village Hall committee and its many users and friends it was the end of an era as Jo Edser & husband John were bid an emotional farewell after 10+ years service as caretakers at their leaving party last Friday. Also leaving last week were year 6 at Grayshott Primary School who were presented with their traditional Grayshott Pottery leavers mugs - mugs which have been treasured by Grayshott families now for generations.
If you want to raise funds for a worthy cause you could join the second boundary walk on Sept 28th run by the Grayshott scouts. All you have to do is raise some sponsorship - all the info you need and downloadable registration forms are available on the GBW website
For this weekend if Karaoke is your thing the Social Club is holding one tonight and the Fox & Pelican has live music from Charlie Beckerson tomorrow night and coming up next Saturday a Caribbean Night starting at 6pm with a steel drum band and later reggae band to get you into the groove alongside some tasty Caribbean food a few 'specials' plus fancy dress prizes. Ben is also planning a birthday weekend for the Fox on 23rd 24th August and after the successful beer tasting a wine & food evening on 17th sept which may have more ladies rather than laddies appeal.
And finally a plea on behalf of the father of young Callum "star" of Madama Butterfly - he has asked if anyone has a photo of his son on stage that night. Apparently their camera let them down and the official photographer left at the interval - needless to say they would like a family momento of the event and it would be nice to complete the pictorial on the website.
Have a good weekend!
