Dear subscriber
Fortunately it did turn out nice in the end for the Grayshott School Summer Fair and Grayshott Summer Ball last weekend. The Ball was held in an elegant marquee in the grounds of Amesbury School and by all accounts a Good time was had by all as the revellers danced the night away to 'May Contain Nuts' - how very appropriate. Local photographer Phil O'Connor was on hand to snap the glitterarty and you can now view and order your prints online
Fingers remain very much crossed for tomorrow night too as Grayshott takes to the open air for the much awaited opera Madama Butterfly preceded by a sumptious Fox & Pelican buffet in the grounds of Grayshott primary school. Even now there may be a last chance to grab your seat if you phone Peter or Vivien Harrison 606666 of Grayshott Concerts - they have even more news this week as their Concert Success Attracts Another Sponsor this time Cain Manor join the concert party.
On Saturday afternoon the Grayshott Gardeners take shade in the Village Hall for their Summer Show. I was astonished at the large range of beautiful flowers and fresh produce on show last year its enough to make more than your fingers turn green. Go along between 2pm and 4pm and enjoy afternoon tea and a taste of summers bounty.
Playing live at the Club on Saturday night are The Revivals a professional five piece band playing popular covers from the 60's to the noughties featuring pop, rock and roll, country, R&B and ballads. You can hear them on their myspace page I thought they sounded jolly good. If you have been lovin the Tuesday Jazz nights at the club you'll be pleased to hear the next one is next week with the very talented and entertaining Binkys' Dixie Demons The club now has a new website www.grayshottsocialclub.co.uk which might look a little familiar - and there is news of the next texas holdem tournie on Sat 26th July.
