Dear subscriber
I hope you enjoyed the Sunday Funday. We were certainly lucky with the weather, and it seems judging by the friendly atmosphere that pervaded the village throughout, and without exception, the new Sunday format has ensured our summer celebration remains family orientated. I have taken some time putting together an illustrated account of the day which I hope, unlike a certain local newspaper, does it justice.
Lets hope the weather holds for the Grayshott School Summer Fair tomorrow and the Grayshott Summer Ball at Amesbury in the evening and also of course for the open air opera Madama Butterfly next weekend. After a Successful Search for Young Opera Star local schoolboy Callum Drain has been chosen to perform in the opera organised by Grayshott Concert's - if somehow you forgot to get your tickets I would give Peter Harrison a call right away 606666 - you may still be in luck.
I had another enjoyable meal this week at Grayshott's newest restaurant the SeaRaj. If you haven't been there yet I recommend you check it out. Owner Don Kamali tells me they are now also open for Sunday lunch party bookings and are about to open a second branch in Farnham. We are lucky to have such a variety of excellent bars and restaurants in the village and to keep them they need your occasional support so please ckeck out our cafe bar dining guide and see where you can help.
It was heartwarming to see Mani & Sudha Rai back at the Gurkha Durbar stall at the Funday. Mani has completed his chemotherapy and is now building back some strength in his leg. I thought Mani, and Sudha, looked remarkably well and apart from Mani's new hairstyle (was there much to lose?) you might never know what they have both been through. Typically even at this difficult time Mani & Sudha were thinking of the village and I am sure they continue to have all our very best wishes.
Have a dry, but not too dry, weekend
