Dear subscriber
Did you miss last fridays what's on! newsletter? - sorry but I was away in sunny Beer down in Devon. With the backlog of website emails awaiting my return it was tempting to skip a week but that wouldn't do with such an eventful week ahead - so here it is, albeit a few days late.
The first thing you need to know is a new weekly Knitting Group starts tonight at the Fox & Pelican between 7pm and 9 pm. Linda de Ruiter tells me "It's open to all who would like to knit in some company, make new knitting friends or learn how to knit. All ages are welcome, free for all (just buy a drink!) and you don't have to come every week or for the full duration of the session. We'll sit in the restaurant part of the pub."
It's St George's Day on Wednesday and the Square Group have decided to celebrate in true English Style by holding a St George's Day Tea Party in The Square - so please join us for afternoon Cream Tea in the Square from 3.30pm to celebrate St George's Day and help raise funds for the Village Square Refurbishment project.
On Wednesday evening and running for four days at Grayshott Village Hall is the Grayshott Stagers very own play on Cowardy Custard - a revue of Noël Coward's best-loved work - the show was an immense success in London, imaginatively presenting a mixture of Noel Coward's words, music, sketches and snippets from plays - check Grayshott Books for tickets in advance.
I've had the village map images arrive from the leaflet produced by City Explorer and have added an interactive version to the website of the large map - next up will be the village centre map - and perhaps beyond that we may see a virtual tour of Grayshott. If you have any views on the leaflet or maps please send them to me as they will help when it comes to planning future editions.
The latest newsletter from our district councillor is now on the website. As always it makes interesting reading and this time covers issues such as; Annual Parish Assembly - Grayshott's Postal Address - DOGS (FOULING OF LAND) ACT 1996 - Grayshott Youth Club - Tree Cutting and Felling between Waggoners and Applegarth - Planning Matters on School Road Hedge ,Clinic Site, Fox and Pelican application for new illuminated signage.
That will do for now, and until the next what's on! newsletter hopefully out this Friday unless I get whisked away again to exotic climes, but before I go I must mention Look - it's Bruch the latest stunner from Grayshott Concerts - I think it is fair to say that Bruch's Violin Concerto No 1 in D minor would already be joining me on my desert island but to hear it 'live' for the first time and played so equisitely by Martin Smith left me all at sea.
Have a great week.
