Dear subscriber
After another successful Grayshott Panto it was a pleasure this week to present a cheque for £600 to Grayshott Primary School on behalf of Party in Grayshott from the proceeds. The donation will go towards new sound and lighting equipment for the school hall - encouraging yet another generation of budding entertainers to tread the boards and maintain this valuable village tradition.
Tonight it's the annual Parish Assembly in the Village Hall starting at 8pm with refreshments available from 7.30pm. There is an interesting agenda including reports from the square group and village archive and the guest speaker is Fire Officer Mark Brittain with everything you wanted to know about fire safety. This meeting is your opportunity to have your say on local matters and is always a surprisingly animated and well attended affair - all credit to Grayshott's Parish Council and our wonderful community spirit.
Tomorrow is the Double Bill for Movies in Grayshott - the classic Jane Austen film Pride and Prejudice at 3pm and the action movie, The Bourne Ultimatum at 8pm - both in Grayshott Village Hall. Cinema tickets are priced at £5.00, or £4.00 for under 16s, and are available in advance from Grayshott Books or on the door.
Saturday night at the Fox & Pelican it's local singer guitarist Charlie Beckerson and on Sunday there's trad jazz from Bill's Dixie Demons both start at 8.30pm and are free entry.
FA Cup semifinal action this weekend at Grayshott Social Club with Pompi vs the Baggies at 12.15 on Saturday and Barnsley v Cardiff City at 4pm on Sunday. On Saturday there is also a chance to lose your shirt on the Grand National. On Saturday night the club is holding its first ever "texas hold em" poker tournament. Many of the pupils from the club's regular Monday night poker school will be there along with some local seasoned semi-pros and the odd celebrity. £10 entry includes Nick's curry and if you fancy trying your hand give the club a ring 01428 604041.
Whatever your luck have a good weekend.
