Dear subscriber
You should by now have received your copy of the excellent Grayshott Parish Scene. The six monthly 'scene' contains a wealth of information on local matters and many contributions from local organisations and is also available online. There was unfortunately an error in the party in grayshott advert and following a few phone calls this week from 'concerned of Grayshott' I should confirm this years village jamboree is on Sunday afternoon 29th June and has been renamed the "Sunday Funday".
This Saturday evening the village says fairwell to St. Luke's Vicar Susan Wing at her Retiirement Party at the VIllage Hall. This will be an opportunity to thank Susan for her enormous contribution to Grayshott and wish her well for her future.
Also this Saturday evening at the Fox & Pelican singer guitarist Colin Santana will be playing well known songs from Dire Straits, Rolling Stones, Barry White, Santana, Roy Orbison and others.
There's more live music at the pub on Sunday evening when Juliet Lawson is accompanied by acclaimed local musician Mike Deighan of the Temperance Seven. Juliet writes bittersweet songs that reflect her wry and often witty view of modern life. She was signed to Sovereign Records which released her first highly acclaimed album called Boo in 1973. Having received ecstatic reviews she recorded other albums and has written music for TV and a musical which was staged in London.
On Tuesday representatives from all our local businesses and organisations are invited to the BIG Meeting starting 6pm in the pub restaurant. The next edition of the BiG directory is underway and advertisers should contact Dick Smith.
All this extra activity at the Fox! - so it's not surprising they are now recruiting more Bar Staff
It's also busy at Grayshott Social Club this weekend with three premiership football matches to enjoy. Saturday at 5:15pm Manchester United v Aston Villa - on Sunday at 1.30pm Chelsea v Middlesbrough and finally at 4:00pm Liverpool v Everton
Looking ahead next Friday 4th April is the annual parish assembly Refreshments are available from 7.30pm and the meeting starts at 8pm in the Village Hall. There is an interesting agenda including reports from the square group, archive and the guest speaker is the eloquent Mark Brittain back from his visit to No10 as Grayshott Firefighters are back by popular demand!
On Saturday week is a Double Bill for Movies in Grayshott - the classic Jane Austen film Pride and Prejudice at 3pm and the action movie, The Bourne Ultimatum at 8pm - both in Grayshott Village Hall. Cinema tickets are priced at £5.00, or £4.00 for under 16s, and are available in advance from Grayshott Books
