Dear subscriber

You will see a few more changes to the homepage of the website made to accommodate the growing number of posts. My aim is to ensure that links to all new information posted on grayshott.com can be found in one place. There is always the risk this creates an information overload but once familiar with the new layout I hope you find this helpful.

Now to what's on this weekend.

Casanova

Tonight is the Movies in Grayshott showing of Casanova the great ladies' man of Venice in his quest for true love, which he finds when he meets Francesca Bruni, played by Sienna Miller. Director Lasse Hallström adds various additional story lines including Casanova's Flight from the Vatican's inquisitor (Jeremy Irons), to make the film very entertaining.

The film will be shown at Grayshott Village Hall, with the doors open at 7.30pm with the film show commencing at 8.00pm. A licensed bar and light refreshments will be available. Tickets can be purchased on the door or in advance from Grayshott Books (Tel: 01428 604798)

BiG Free Breakfast

On Saturday morning to celebrate the success of CANCER RESEARCH UK the Fox & Pelican is offering a FREE breakfast between 8.30am and 11.00am. It's a real village effort with Sausages, Bacon & Eggs donated by Kaighin & Daughter, Mushrooms & Tomatoes by Cabbage Patch, Bread by Tesco Express, and the rest and cooking by the Fox & Pelican. They say there is no such thing as a free lunch and so please feel FREE to make a donation to Cancer Research UK afterwards.

Then on sunday at the pub is a return from Bill Dixies Demons a ?Trad Jazz? evening with Bill and his quartet. Always a fun night!

29th feb - Affordable housing boost for Grayshott - East Hampshire District Council is delighted that a small-scale development of affordable housing is to be provided in the village of Grayshott to address the housing needs of some local people. This year will see the completion of two houses and two bungalows in the village. Following development funding of £196,000 from the Housing Corporation, Drum Housing Association started on site in January at Beech Hanger End. 22nd feb - What's On! newsletter - It seems the government, and now largely thanks to them - all of us, are stuck between a rock and a hard place, but what do we care? with all that is good going on in Grayshott there is no need to brood on our national woes. Those lucky enough to be at the latest Grayshott Concerts held last Saturday at St Luke's Church were treated to a Stunning performance by Grayshott's new choir Excelsis as they performed Vivaldi's "Gloria" with top soloists Judith Howarth and Yvonne Fontane. more...
21st feb - 'BIG' cheque for Grayshott Village Square - The "Buy in Grayshott" (BIG) campaign was delighted to present a cheque for almost £800 to the Grayshott Square Group. The money was raised from a collection following a very successful Carol Service in the Village Square on Christmas Eve last year, led by the vicar of St Luke's church, the hugely popular Rev Susan Wing. more...
19th feb - Stunning performance by Grayshott's new choir - Grayshott's new choir Excelsis, received a tumultuous standing ovation for their performance of Vivaldi's 'Gloria' at their debut concert in Grayshott on Saturday. The event, organised by Grayshott Concerts at St Luke's Church, marked the culmination of four months of intense activity in forming a new choir from scratch and rehearsing for the event. more...
