Dear subscriber

What a grey day! I'm sure we must all be feeling a touch of the winter blues. The dark days and constant rain dampens the spirits so and makes us SAD. So lets cheer our soggy, hibernating selves up with some real gems to look forward to...

Fox & Pelican

This Sunday night at the Pub is a 'song request' night with local musician Vic Cracknell who entertained a packed house just before Christmas. Vic performs from his wide repertoire which includes songs from The Beatles, Elton John, Van Morrison, Coldplay, Stevie Wonder, Johnny Cash and many more. You can help decide which way his set is going to go!

Next Tuesday is Foxy Sam's Country Blues with the Fox & Pelican's very own Sam Rawlinson who once entertained the Jamboree audience. She will be singing songs from Dolly Parton, Pasty Cline, Garth Brooks, Elvis, Don McLean, Alan Jackson, The Dixie Chicks, Johnny Preston, Crystal Gayle and will throw in some Eagles as well.

BIG it up

Prior to the music next Tuesday is the next BIG Meeting for representatives of Grayshott's many businessess and organisations - this is held at 6pm in the Pub restaurant and everyone is welcome.

Ello Ello Ello

The Police Authority are doing consultations across the whole of Hampshire (one in each district) to find out what the communities policing priorities are. In order to do this they are inviting members of the public to complete a survey and also ask them what their three policing priorities are. The Grayshott Consultation will take place in Grayshott Village Hall between 6pm and 8pm next Wednesday 23rd Jan so why not go along and feel their collar.

Grayshott Parish Council has recently created 10 new plots at Beech Allotments to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage residents to grow their own fruit and vegetables. No more waiting lists. No more excuses.

Also on the noticeboard are 2008 newsletters from Arthritis Care and Grayshott Scouts and on the Parish Council Noticeboard is kept a list of upcoming meetings with agendas and minutes of previous meetings. These make for more interesting reading than you would imagine.

Finally - many thanks to all eleven sponsors who have continued to financially support the village website in 2008 - their links are in the directory section below - and as you can see there is room for a few more. Please support them as they have supported us.

Well I hope that cheered you up a bit. No? Oh well, its only another 340 days to go to Christmas. Aaaghhhh!
