Dear subscriber
What a weekend that was.
The concert in St Luke's last Saturday was just superb and I can't think of a better place to have heard, as I did, "The Armed Man - A mass for Peace" in its entirety for the first time - quite moving and particularly pertinent as remembrance day falls this Sunday. Congratulations to Vivien & Peter Harrison who are Grayshott Concerts for organising yet another awesome sellout concert in Grayshott - we are so lucky. There are a few photos on the gallery
I expect you went to the annual Pyrotechnics In Grayshott - it seemed the world and his wife and children were there also. Hope you enjoyed it but PiG would love to hear your comments so please leave a message on the messageboard.
A while back Grayshott Parish Council began to post agendas for their various meetings on this website and I am pleased to say that they have now decided to also post minutes. In recognition of this I felt it was about time there was a dedicated space on the homepage to accommodate this info - a grayshott parish council noticeboard - and this fits in with the aim to emulate grayshott noticeboards on the website all be it in a virtual way. Its only when you start to read agendas, minutes and the parish scene that you realise just how much goes on behind the scenes to look after Grayshott's interests and I'm sure this improved transparency will aid democracy and stimulate interest in important local issues.
So what's on this weekend? The Social Club has another live band on Saturday with Tripwire and on Sunday chill out night at the Fox & Pelican is with Wendy Lloyd & Nick Franklin and on tuesday at the pub it's hello Dolly and of course as mentioned it's Remembrance Sunday. So a bit less frenetic than last weekend but I guess some of us could do with the rest.
Also next Tuesday evening is the Grayshott Society AGM The Grayshott Society was formed to help protect and enhance Grayshott and the surrounding countryside, by encouraging the interest and support of residents - they need your support - and this is your chance to go along and have your say about the things that irk you - they really can make a difference...
Until next weeks What's On!
