newsletter friday 12th october 2007 Dear subscriber Have your nerves recovered from last weekend yet? Super Saturday had to be the best day yet in rugby history as we kicked the Aussies out and the All Blacks got Les Bleus. The next nail-biter, an England v France semi-final, is 8pm this Saturday and I wouldn't like to call it - ou et le papier! Sundays tussle between South Africa and Argentina also at 8pm should be equally enthralling - the looming prospect of a repeat showdown with the boks in the final at 'ground zero' is just too tempting not to contemplate. For soccer fans England play Estonia on Saturday in the Euro 2008 qualifier at the now earlier time of 3pm. For maximum atmosphere all these matches can be seen at Grayshott Social Club If you have no interest in rugby and can bear to miss the match on Saturday night, or if perhaps you can't bear to watch, please get on down to the Scouts Quiz Night @ The Village Hall for 7.30pm where a hot supper, licensed bar and entertaining quiz awaits. Last Saturday also saw Vegas in Grayshott at the Fox & Pelican as their charity casino night raised a phenomenal £5,712 toward the children hospice charity CHASE. You can read all about this and see some photos in the news item CHASE is BIG winner at Fox & Pelican Casino Night The Pub has successfully introduced live music on Sunday nights - this week it's Liam & Dan and and there is now an impressive list of upcoming music nights on Sundays and some Tuesdays. Next week there is something special for the ladies as the village hall hold a Pamper & Pimms night on Wednesday with Therapists & Beauticians providing treatments (£5 for 15 minutes), and Stall Holders selling crafts and gifts. Tickets are just £4 from Grayshott Books or call Pat Barrett on 01428 606201 I don't like to mention the C word but another new date for your diaries is the Grayshott Christmas Market which is on Sunday 18th November starting at 4pm to coincide with the Christmas Lights switch on and ending at 6pm. Once again the market will be held in and around the Fox & Pelican - but avoiding the grass this year just in case it rains again - and if you would like to hold a stall please contact Julie at the Magical Rooms on 01428 608340 If you would like to post any items on the website, news, events, etc please simply send the details in a reply to this email. Until next weeks What's On!
