newsletter friday 5th october 2007 Dear subscriber The tension mounts at Grayshott Social Club with the prospect of another momentous weekend of world cup rugby as we enter the knock out stages. The highlight is England v Australia which kicks off at 2pm on Saturday - get there early to get your seat as there might be a bit of a scrum. Later at 8pm is France v New Zealand and the club have laid on an evening of live music with Second Time Around free entry at 9pm - I wonder if they do "Paint it Black"?. Sunday at 2pm is South Africa v Fiji and 8pm Scotland v Argentina - I think I can already hear the pipes a calling. All this and 5 premiership football matches will be shown at the club this weekend. This Saturday is also Vegas in Grayshott a fun and fundraising dinner and casino night in aid of Chase childrens hospice at the Fox & Pelican. Some tickets are still available from the pub or the bookshop. There is also a megaraffle with some great prizes - tickets are being sold at various places around the village including the pub - don't forget to get yours. On Sunday is the pubs popular live music night - this week it's Rhythm Thieves an acoustic/electric guitar duo. Also on Saturday with a charity theme is a dinner and Auction of Promises @ St Stephen's Shottermill to raise funds for crossways counselling service the evening has been organised by our local GP Dr Simon Dunbar please phone him on 01428 605163 for tickets. Or you could go out for a meal. The Gurkha Durbar would particularly love to see you at any time this month to help them raise money for Restaurants Against Hunger which helps save lives of children suffering from hunger and malnutrition.
