newsletter friday 21st september 2007 Dear subscriber The rugby world cup is in full flow and if you didn't enjoy Englands defeat to the Boks last week at the Stade de France, which I imagine some witty frenchies now refer to as "Ground Zero", then we should do better against Samoa tomorrow - kick off 3pm. As for Les Bleus they have to beat the Irish tonight at 8pm at the same stadium or they've had their chips - lets hope they don't also get nil points - no really. All these games and more can be seen at Grayshott Social Club. Last week I mentioned the BIG Golf day which raised £1,500 for charity and you can now view all the team photos including the winners "The Posties" in the news item BIG Charity Golf Day a Winner for Macmillan Cancer Support The Party in the Piazza also raised around £1,500 this time towards the Square refurbishment fund - you can find out more and see some great photos of the day in Party in the Piazza fundraising success Vic's music night at the Fox & Pelican last Sunday in the newly refurbished front bar was terrific and this week they have a popular duo Tumbling Dice and then the Claire Phoenix Duo on 30th September. There is more entertainment next Tuesday with Live Music with Vic & Friends @ The Social Club come along to enjoy some local talent in particular look out for Mike Dawes. This Sunday is the much awaited Grayshott Boundary Walk. Please join in this special event organised by the 1st Grayshott Scouts to celebrate 100 years of Scouting. Start your walk any time between 9am and 2.30 pm at The Royal British Legion Club next to the Village Hall or at Ludshott Common. The well-marked and marshalled route round the village is all on footpaths and there are special prices for refreshments at Applegarth Farm café for walkers. A £5 donation to Scout fund is welcome and a Commemorative certificate will be awarded to all who take part - thanks to Sponsors Miles&Miles and Grayshott Pottery. There are some notes for walkers and all the info you need on the boundary walk website Get your tickets from Grayshott Books for the next Movies in Grayshott production Mrs Henderson Presents which is next Friday at the Village Hall. The film, which stars Dame Judi Dench and Bob Hoskins directed by Stephen Frears, is a musical-drama about a widow who buys the dilapidated Windmill Theatre in Soho and turns it into a revue show that never closes during the Second World War. A sort of Moulin Bleu - this is witty, sexy and funny - and there is a licensed bar. Also next Friday is the official opening of the new Grayshott toilet block by MP James Arbuthnot. This new safer facilty also incorporates the new office for our Police Community Support Officer Jim Leggat. Jim will be holding his first open surgery next Thursday afternoon between 2pm and 5pm "at your convenience". More on all this will be rolled out soon. If you would like to post any items on the website, news, events, etc please simply send the details in a reply to this email. Until next weeks What's On!
