Dear subscriber

Did you miss last weeks edition of what's on? So did I - once again thanks to a BT line fault - so not wishing to skip anything important lets go back a bit before we look forward.

You were the first to hear that Grayshott Wins "Best Village" Award for the Third Time now you can read all about it.

The BIG Charity Golf Day @ Hurtmore on 5th Sep was a resounding success. 40 players enjoyed a great afternoon of golf followed by a wonderful evening of fun & food, not to mention the booze! John Lee from the Hindhead Ringers won the individual top prize of the day, but the prize for the best team score went to The Posties, ably headed by Noel Reidy and assisted by Tony Stocks, Nicky Butt & Kelvin Hughes. There were many other prize winners, but the best prize of the day went to the Macmillan Cancer Support. The generosity of many of the businesses in Grayshott in donating the prizes, coupled to the willingness of the players to loosen their purse-strings meant that the magnificent sum of £1,500 was raised for the cause.

The first Haslemere Beer Festival was a great success and the holder of ticket number 1 particularly enjoyed TripleFFF's 6%abv "Summer is a Cummin" to the sounds of Vic Cracknell and "Something 4 the Weekend".

The Grayshott Party in the Piazza fundraising event, held in Grayshott Square on Sunday was a wow with 150 guests enjoying a 3 course Italian style lunch complete with carefully selected Italian wines and Italian music helping to raise funds towards the village square refurbishment project. News and photos to come soon.

This Friday is the Grand Opening of Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Shop with Complimentary Cake and a Free Prize Draw for all who visit the shop between 10.30am - 1pm - the new shop is between Flower Vogue & The Co-Op

It's all happening at the Fox & Pelican with new weekly "chilled out" Sunday night live music is coming to the newly refurbished front bar. The music starts with Vic Cracknell this Sunday. Vic will be playing an eclectic mix of songs from artists such as Elton John, The Eagles, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Van Morrison, Jack Johnson, David Gray and many more. He will also play some requests and expect some boogie woogie piano during the evening. The music continues on 23rd September with popular duo Tumbling Dice and then the Claire Phoenix Duo on 30th September.

Just over a week to go I hope you have got your sponsor form filled for the Centenary Sponsored Grayshott Boundary Walk organised by Grayshott Scouts - no? then its not too late. There are some notes for walkers and all the info you need on the boundary walk website

On a personal note congratulation to my friends Baz & Tracey known to many of you who tied the knot last Saturday making for the perfect week. This what's on is a day early as I'm off to Paris tommorrow to support England in their crunch match with South Africa. Hope we all have a good weekend.

If you would like to post any items on the website, news, events, etc please simply send the details in a reply to this email.

Until next weeks What's On! win or lose...
