newsletter friday 31st august 2007 Grayshott awarded "Best Village in East Hampshire 2007" Dear subscriber I thought you ought to be the first to know! Once again Grayshott has picked up a "Best Village" award in the Calor sponsored competition. This time Grayshott has been judged to be the "Best Village in East Hampshire". So congratulations once again go to the "Buy in Grayshott" campaign led by Dick Smith who ably helped by Phil Bates entered Grayshott into the competition earlier this year. Following a visit from the three judges, their leader Jane Harrap commented on the tremendously high enthusiasm of all the entrants and considered Grayshott among the most active and progressive villages in Hampshire. More news of this award to follow. Grayshott has previously been awarded the title of "Best Village in Hampshire" in 2002 and also in 2005 when Grayshott was also chosen to host the award cermony Following the Hampshire awards Grayshott was entered into the national village awards and additionally presented with the prestigious award for "Best Village for Business in the Community in England & Wales" by HRH Princess Anne at a London ceremony in 2002 and then in 2005 for "Best Village for Business in the Community in South England" by no lesser celebrity than Alan Titmarsh. One of the many facets of Grayshott life that make it an award winning village is Grayshott Concerts and Vivien and Peter Harrison are delighted to announce that Applegarth Farm are joining forces with them to (once again) sponsor the next concert, Karl Jenkins' "The Armed Man - A Mass for Peace" in St Luke's Church on Saturday 3rd November 2007.
