Dear grayshott.com subscriber

The Jamboree as hoped lit up Grayshott, the weather behaved itself, and I trust it was enjoyed by all concerned. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all those who helped to make this such a successful day. It takes an enormous amount of time and effort planning, setting up and clearing up for the day and I would particularly like to pay tribute to the hard working Party in Grayshott Committee.

We have some fantastic photos of the day in the website gallery as well as some stunning aerial photos taken from the top of the TLA and I have put together a news story Jamboree sets Grayshott on Fire with a sample of them to whet your appetite. The website is currently receiving over a 1,000 visits a day and I'm sure a lot of the extra traffic has been to the gallery.

Of particular note was the BATALA Portsmouth samba reggae band who led the procession - they certainly lit my fire - and I would like to thank the Fox & Pelican for sponsoring them. This was particularly generous considering the new managers Ben and Emma had only just arrived and have already sponsored and are catering the forthcoming opera 'Barber of Seville'. Please read my other news story Grayshott Welcome for Ben & Emma at The Fox & Pelican

Thanks to everyone who bought raffle tickets and to everyone who sold them - we raised £1,571 which will help to fund the various PiG events . If you won a prize Gillian will be calling you and you can view a list of Raffle prize winners on the website.

Also in the news is the display of my latest rugby shirt - no - I mean the First Design Ideas for Grayshott Square Community Project Unveiled - please take a look at these - they are next to Flower Vogue - and let us have your thoughts...

Have you had a look at the Art goes Pop exhibition at GalleryOne! yet? No? - well you have until 7th July and it's well worth it.

Tonight is the next Grayshott Movies offering The Da Vinci Code and some tickets may be available on the door - but I suggest you get yours today from Grayshott Books

Tomorrow is Grayshott Schools summer fun day the Primary School Picnic in the Pond formerly known as the playground - No - I'm sure the sun won't let them down and there are many tents that can come to the rescue or we just go inside. I've ordered a whole barrel of Hogs Back TEA so you had better come along and help me drink it.

On Sunday all you fag merchants get your comeupance and if not being able to smoke is bad enough you won't be able to pee the next day either as the Grayshott loo block is out of commission for a few weeks as they connect up the plumbing.

Then next Saturday is the event we have all been waiting for. There are a few tickets still available for The Barber of Seville but not many. I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't want to experience this first for Grayshott. If you would like to help steward at the event please contact David Phillips 01428 606036.

On a personal note I'd like to congratulate my son Christopher on his graduation as a Bachelor of Fine Art on Wednesday and embarass him no doubt by sharing a photo with you. Many of you will know Chris and know what he has had to cope with and his achievement considering this is all the greater, so it is as a very proud father that I say good bye until next week...
