grayshott.com what's on! Jamboree Special Good Morning Grayshott! Lets hope it stays that way! The forecast is for thundery showers so bring waterproofs and umbrellas to the Village Jamboree just in case, for once, they get it right. I had hoped we had used up all the rain yesterday - it never seemed to stop. Thanks to Ben Flounders, Phil Bates, Colin Thompson and Chris & Sarah Hatch who turned out to help the PIG crew in putting up the various tents - so many tents.. The Jamboree itinerary is well publicised and you can take a look at the Interactive Poster on the website to see the latest programme of events. I suggest you go along to the Fire & Rescue Centenary Open Day starting at 10am at the fire station which should be great fun and then head up back to the village at 1pm for the school choir and maypole on Lyndon Green. At 2.30 make sure you have picked your spot on Headley Road for the "Grayshott on Fire" carnival procession - floats please be at the village hall by 2pm to take part. The procession is led by the BATALA Portsmouth Samba Reggae band sponsored by the Fox & Pelican so you will hear them coming. A wonderful programme of entertainment follows with the Bohunt 8 piece Jazz ensemble and samba band at 3.30pm then fabulous Flamenco guitar from Byron Johnston at 4.30pm - a real treat. Or you could join in the Grayshott Physiotherapy Family Fun Run which starts at 4pm by the war memorial. The entertainment continues at 5.15pm with Rupert Oxlade a very talented solo artist and at 6pm Ferris Cowper makes his JIG debut with 'Undercover' At 6.45 the 'Hanging Tree Band' folk it up before local musician Vic Cracknell, who we thank for organising the days musical feast, entertains you with 'something 4 the weekend' The finale 'Beats Working' plays out the ultimate hour and at 10pm we can all go home to our beds. Once we have cleared up that is - all help gratefully received. Today is the last chance to get your raffle tickets and support PIG events in the village - there are loads of great prizes in this years community raffle organised by PIG - tickets on sale next to the Lyndon Green Village Bar. Proceeds go to support the Jamboree and other PIG events. Please also support the bars, food stalls, funfair etc they all make valuable contributions to the £7,500 needed to fund each Jamboree - and get rid of all that loose change in those yellow buckets. The sun has just come out, it's 8am, and now I must leave you as it is time to go to work... See you later in a tent somewhere.... Peter Hatch PS Please take a look at all the many news items, posts and events below - don't forget to get you tickets to the third film show from Grayshott Movies The Da Vinci Code And now for the usual blurb....
