Hello Grayshott Interweb fans I'm back! and here is my latest issue of what's on! - looking at the week ahead - but first a bit about what went on whilst I was away sunning myself in Turkey. Thanks to everyone that turned out at the "Love your village 2007" judges visit - we will now have a nervous wait to see if Grayshott is the Best Village in Hampshire for the third time. The main event this weekend is your chance to Seek out the twentyfour Hidden Gardens of Grayshott. Nine of the gardens are being opened for the very first time and it will be a great chance to revisit many of the gardens opened at the first hidden gardens event held in 2005, to see how they have come on over the last two years. Entry to all the gardens is just £4 per visitor which includes a programme revealing the location and details of all the hidden gardens and other info on the weekends events. The programme is available on the day from St Luke's Church Rooms and in advance, from Grayshott Books. Afternoon refreshments will also be available at seven of the gardens and lunch at the Village Kitchen Caterers from noon to 2pm on Saturday and Sunday. As well as the gardens there will be a spectacular floral carpet in the church arranged by Grayshott Flower Club, a photographic exhibition from Ludshott Photographic Club and the church bell ringers will be giving an on going demonstration of their skills. All proceeds from this years Hidden Gardens event will be given to village amenities. In 2005 the gardens received more than 750 visitors and over £3000 was raised. Please don't miss this fabulous opportunity to discover the Hidden Gardens of Grayshott. If you enjoy testing your knowledge and memory the Club is holding a Nostalgia Quiz on Saturday - with questions from 50's 60's & 70's sound and film clips from TV & radio - lots of fun with quizmeister Brian Flounders Heads up! Not surprisingly the Barber of Seville Open Air Opera being sung in english on 7/7/7 is nearly sold out so if you fancy this get your tickets before it does - from the book shop. Whilst on Holiday I visited the Barber of Dalyan who only knew one word of english - "short?" - although he did mumble something almost comprehensible as I paid the bill - reminds me that Vic Cracknell & Something 4 the Weekend will be playing at this years Jamboree on Sat 23rd June. We have a fantastic day lined up and you will soon be receiving your flyer through the door - more to be revealed soon. That's all for now - hope to see you in a garden somewhere.
