Grayshott What's (Going) On!
Feb 2007
You may be wondering why no What's On! has appeared in your inbox so far this year - well - things have been a bit hectic website wise so this is the first edition. Having said that January was a bit quiet.
In any case my aim now is to send out relevant reminders for individual events so I see this page as a way of pointing you in the right direction - particularly where there is an opportunity to get tickets in advance or reserve a date in your diary. I would also like to use it to keep you informed of burning local issues - and I intend to send out individual news stories too. Where will I find the time?
The village diary on the homepage has, I'm told, been helpful but it has become so expansive that it is slowing down the loading of the homepage - a cardinal sin in the webworld. So I have set the village diary up as a separate page and have just this week and next displaying with links to see the whole diary. What do you reckon?
So what is going on?
First things first - you will have spotted that there is another Vic & Friends Music Night at Grayshott Social Club tonight (Tuesday 13th Feb). These are proving more and more popular and the combination of tried and tested performers with a few having a go on the open mic is most entertaining.
The club is also planning a musical and comedy Cabaret Night on the 24th Feb and tickets are now on sale £10 in advance.
Don't miss the opportunity as a website subscriber to reserve your tickets for The Barber of Seville in July - This open air opera is likely to sell out before the tickets go on sale to the public so don't cut it too fine.
Tickets will also soon be on sale at the Bookshop for this years Panto - Trouble in Pantoland - oh yes they will!
If you are planning to join in the carnival procession at this Years Village Jamboree on 23rd June you need to know that this years theme is "Grayshott on Fire" This is in recognition of the Grayshott Fire & Rescue which celebrates its centenary this year - and they will also be holding an open day to coincide with the Jamboree - more news in the next What's On!
Please use the links below to view the 2007 Village Diary You may also like to include an event in the diary - simply reply to this email giving the details.
As always, I welcome any comments about our village website and hope you continue to enjoy using it.
