Grayshott What's On!
November 2006
Dear website subscriber
GUY FAWKES
Remember remember the fifth of November gunpowder treason and plot etc etc.... I suppose it had to happen eventually and this year it has......Pyrotechnics In Grayshott, or PYG if you like, is on the 5th of November - your actual Guy Fawkes Night - Hooray!. Still on a Sunday 6pm to 8pm. Still at Grayshott Sportsground. Still free and still relying on all you lot to fill our buckets to pay for the two and a half grands worth of oohs and ahhhs.
The weather forecast looks perfect this year and as Beacon Hill's annual bonfire was cancelled due to the difficulties of our wonderful new licensing laws it might be busier than ever. So please come along early and leave your cars in the village and walk to avoid traffic congestion.
After the last fireworks have fizzled out there is even more entertainment at the Club with PIG's Post Pyro Party with Vic & Friends and I believe the Pub also has a disco. Vic has some great live music lined up at the club and it's is free entry with more bucket collections to support PIG.
XMAS SHOPPING
Done your Christmas shopping yet? Well time is running out you know - but fortunately there are plenty of opportunities to grab some stocking fillers in November. Tonight (Thursday 2nd) get yourself down to the school for the PK Shopping Evening then this Saturday 4th at the village hall is Macmillan Cancer Support Christmas Fair then there is always the Christmas Market on 25th November.
FUNDRAISERS
Macmillan also have a Musical Concert for Macmillan Cancer Support on the 18th with the Fernhurst Choral Society and there is a QUIZ NIGHT to raise funds for the village hall furniture store on the 11th.
NIGHTWATCH
The month finishes with the next Stagers Production of NIGHTWATCH by Lucille Fletcher. A melodramatic psychological thriller in two Acts set in 1970's Manhattan - I've promised myself I must get along to this one - maybe pick up a few acting tips for next years Panto. Tickets go on sale at Grayshott Bookshop from 6th November for the three performances.
EVENTS EMAILS
Frankly it all gets a bit hectic this time of year and there is really too much going on in the month to say, and take in, all in one email so I have decided to also email out each event seperately to our website subscribers to do them all justice. If you'd rather miss out on this extra service let me know and I'll take you off the list. Just reply to this email.
So that's it for this month. You will find the complete list of upcoming events by visiting www.grayshott.com and clicking the EVENTS section on the main menu.
You may also like to include an event on www.grayshott.com - if so, please simply reply to this email giving the details.
As always, I welcome any comments about our village website and hope you continue to enjoy using it.
