Grayshott What's On!

July 2006

Dear website subscriber
After the near mayhem of June, this month seems pretty quiet and there isn't really very much, if anything, to say about it - so I suggest you simply take a look at the list of events in July below - but before you do I would like to take the opportunity to reflect on the Village Jamboree.
JIG day was a great success and the weather kind - you can view photos of the day on the Jamboree Gallery The hard working PIG committee is delighted to report that the money raised so far this year has covered the cost of the event with important contributions from the bucket collections, raffle, donations from the funfair & bbq, hog roast and nepalese food stalls.

A major boost to the funds this year came from the Jamboree Bar on Lyndon Green which for the first time was run by the PIG committee and staffed by volunteers. Thanks to Grayshott Social Club who kindly provided all the gallons of beer and lakes of wine at cost on sale or return meaning that ALL the profits from the bar amounting to £1,800 could go to fund the event.

Many thanks go to everyone who supported the day and particularly to the many helpers that contributed to such making the 2006 Jamboree another great day for Grayshott.

The Grayshott Community Raffle organised by PIG raised £1,300 and the proceeds will help to fund all PIG events. All winners will now have been contacted and you can now view the list of prizes & winners on the website. Thanks to everyone for buying tickets and the many local businesses who generously donated prizes.
The World Cup final tonight at 7pm was always going to be a bit disappointing after Englands exit to Portugal - still, the competition has been a fun if bumpy ride and I for one will enjoy seeing Italy and France battle it out at the club later - seeing that those cup final tickets never materialised.

Have a great summer!
