Grayshott What's On!
March 2006
Dear website subscriber
Before I get on to next months events a few words about development of the village website.
Regular visitors of the website may have noticed a few changes in recent weeks and hopefully not too much disruption. We have now moved to a larger faster server which hopefully means a better viewing experience. The website is best viewed on at least 1024 X 768 screen resolutuon (windows users can set this by right clicking on their desktop and selecting properties then settings) although 800 X 600 still works it's a bit crowded but you can drag the frame borders to improve viewing area - and if you don't have broadband yet I suggest you upgrade from dial-up it really is worth every penny.
In particular I am pleased to include some excellent and interesting photos taken by professional photographer Phil O'Connor of many of our local businesses - these are viewable on each directory page and there is now navigation to enable quick browsing through the 300 entries. If you have a local business or are part of a local organisation and would like to get your photo added to your directory page to make it more interesting please email it to me or even better email philoconnor@btconnect.com and he will arrange to take your photo for free to add to the collection.
The new BIG directory is underway and all adverts placed will be reproduced on the website - contact dick-smith@supanet.com
Another improvement is the facility to display posters along with details of upcoming events - far more eyecatching than just text. In time we hope to host photos of all events not just the major PIG events and make the whole process of entering events on the website easier. Many more improvements on the way.
Now on to entertainment in March
On Wed 15th there is a Pamper and Pimms evening to raise funds towards replacing the main stage curtains and on Sat 25th a Race Night to raise fund for the furniture store both at Grayshott Village Hall
This years Pantomime in Grayshott is on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th also at Grayshott Village Hall. Tickets are now on sale at Grayshott Books for Treasure Island and Long John Silver advises you to get yours asap before we sell out or it'll be the black spot for ye.
Rounding off the month or at least starting the next is the fabulous Concert in Grayshott - Magic of Mozart the subject of my previous email - enough said.
You will find the complete list of upcoming events by visiting www.grayshott.com and clicking the EVENTS section on the main menu.
You may also like to include an event on www.grayshott.com - if so, please use the online form or simply reply to this email giving the details.
As always, I welcome any comments about our village website and hope you continue to enjoy using it.
