Grayshott What's On!

Before getting into December a few words about just two of the great village events in November.
Hopefully no one missed the fabulous Pyrotechnics in Grayshott which, despite the persistent rain during the day as we set things up, was well attended as the skies cleared just in time. A notice was posted on the website confirming the event was a GO and this is worth remembering for next year if things are in doubt. Sunday falls on Guy Fawkes night next year so for once Grayshott will steal the march on the other shows. I am told we have the best fireworks display around and many thanks go to all the Party in Grayshott (PIG) committee and their many helpers who helped make the event go with a bang - we were pleased to come out having just about covered costs despite the inclement weather. You can View PiG Photos on the PIG gallery.
I am sure if you went to the delightful Christmas Market on Saturday you are already getting into the spirit of things and it's great to see the tree lights twinkling again - all we need now is some snow to complete the picture. If you still have some presents to buy you will be very welcome at the Grayshott School Christmas Fair and Little Sunflowers Christmas Bazaar on the next two Saturday's respectively.
Grayshott Social Club held a sell out Rolling Stones tribute night last Friday with the fab "Rollin Clones" and another unforgettable curry from Uncle Nick who always rices to the occasion. I believe Nick is expecting another stonkin' fancy dress turnout to the GLAM ROX 70's BAND & DISCO on Sat 10th with stax of prizes for the best footwear, hair, boy, girl, boy/girl, group etc etc. There is a late bar to 1am and tickets at only £5 so come on down to the ballroom blitz.
Grayshott Women's Institute are celebrating their 80th Birthday Party on Tue 13th and have arranged with Alina Jenkins, BBC South Today's weather presenter, to show GRAYSHOTT on the 'South Today' weather map to be broadcasted at 6.30 pm on the same day.
Grayshott may have even more to celebrate by then as we find out next Tuesday at the Village of the Year awards ceremony in London whether we have won more accolades. Fingers crossed!
Carols in the Square this year on xmas eve will follow the usual format and hopefully the weather will not force a retreat to the village hall as last year.
So I hope you have a very merry Christmas and a peaceful new year.
