Let me tell you a little bit about our club!
We didnt have a meeting in January because the first Tuesday of the month was actually New Years Day, so although there is nothing to report I would like to take the opportunity to tell you what Arthritis Care in Grayshott does and does not do.
We meet on the first Tuesday of every month at 2pmin the Village Hall, we always have a Speaker and subjects are of general interest and not specific to Arthritis. It could be travel, gentle exercise to music or a talk from someone who has an interesting or unusual job or hobby. In 2008 we already have planned talks on China, Hydestile Wild Life, Arford Hand Bell Ringers, Flower Arranging and lots more. Tea, sandwiches and cakes are available plus a sales table and raffle.
We do not provide individual medical advice but what we DO strive to give is support and companionship for ladies and gentlemen, whatever their ages.
We have to charge a modest annual membership, part of which goes to the National Head Office, to promote awareness of this crippling disease.
In the summer (this year in June) we have a special luncheon buffet and at Christmas a festive lunch, both of which start at 12.00 noon.
Transport can be provided from Grayshott, Haslemere, Bordon and Liphook for a nominal cost.
If you would like to come & see what our meetings are like OR if you would like to help please call Shirley on 01428 643625 or Sybil on 01428 605002 or look at the Grayshott website www.grayshott.com for our latest programme news.
