Grayshott Concerts' Patron to attend Messiah

With only a few weeks to go and almost all tickets sold, Grayshott Concerts organisers were 'over the moon' to hear that their Patron, Karl Jenkins with his wife Carol are planning to attend Messiah at St Luke's Church on Saturday 20th March.

"This is wonderful news", said Concerts' founder, Vivien Harrison. "Karl is busy on so many projects - we're so delighted he's making time to come to Grayshott again."

MessiahIt has recently become clear that the performance by Excelsis with the Grayshott Baroque Orchestra under Robert Lewis, will be the first ever full performance of the work in the village.

"Until we secured the new staging," said co-founder Peter Harrison, "there wasn't a venue large enough in the district to stage the oratorio with a full orchestra and choir. It's all very exciting!"

Making their first appearances in Grayshott are soloists: Jeni Bern (Soprano), Victoria Simmonds (Contralto), Matthew Minter (Tenor) and Colin Campbell (Bass).

The concert series is sponsored by Applegarth Farm, Huntington House and The Bath Room Grayshott.

Tickets and more information are available from 01428 606666 or www.grayshottconcerts.co.uk (cards accepted).
