Louise Tricket from Haslemere and Stephanie Dennison from Normandy Creating PotsGrayshott Pottery had another great ceramics success at the weekend, with their day of clay coiling and hand building day led by ceramics designer, Myra McDonnell.

This latest initiative, organised by the event team at the Pottery, was attended by many would-be potters from far and wide. Participants made a variety of pots and vases both for indoor and outdoor use. Some made huge ornate serving dishes decorated with clay shapes, whilst others created small folded vases or large garden pots.

Jane Sleap from Camberley said, 'It was nice to do something creative that you couldn't possibly do at home and with expert tuition. It was a tremendously relaxing day!' Stephanie Dennison from Normandy, backed this up and said,' It was a very enjoyable opportunity to leave the busy week behind and do something creative'.

Myra, who ran the session and is currently a freelance designer and decorator at the Pottery said, ' We were delighted to get such a wonderful response to this event. We all had a really good day and it was a great chance for people to experience clay for themselves, but also to see what we do here, at the Pottery, as well. I hope to fire the ceramics shortly and then we will see what they have all created!'

The next event at Grayshott Pottery will be held on Saturday June 12th. It is open to either adults or children and participants will be able to paint a prepared piece – a plate or mug - either as a gift ready for Father's Day or just for fun. The event costs £12 for an hour session and booking is essential. The organisers ask that all participants under 16 years, are accompanied by an adult.
