Elmer the Elephant is coming to Grayshott

Elmer the Patchwork ElephantElmer the patchwork elephant is coming to Grayshott on 2 October 2010 to celebrate the launch of Grayshott Children's Theatre at Grayshott Village Hall. And Grayshott is going to be going Elmer loopy over the summer holidays with Elmer competitions, patchwork parties and treasure hunts to get all the little ones in the mood.

The production, by the award winning Blunderbus Theatre Company, is a vibrant and energetic adaptation of David McKee's well – loved children's books. It is a magical musical jungle adventure which is sure to delight children aged 4-7, and will be a back to school treat for all the family.

Grayshott Children's Theatre is a community-run, non profit project which was set up thanks to the kind generosity of ten local companies who have sponsored this first show. Elmer will be quickly followed by a Christmas show, The Very Noisy Night, on 18 December. Over the course of 2011 we will be staging three further shows (for different age groups), plus some visits from well-loved authors and an outdoor production of The Dragon's Daughter.

Elmer will be performing at 11am and 2pm in Grayshott Village Hall. The show is 55 minutes long and is aimed specifically at children aged between 4 and 7. Tickets cost £6.00 and will be on sale from Grayshott Books from 14 August or in advance by emailing elmer@grayshottchildrenstheatre.co.uk and this includes the opportunity to have some fun in our Café au Play after the show, do some drawing, try a bit of dressing up and have a drink and an Elmer biscuit. Have a look at our website www.grayshottchildrenstheatre.co.uk for information about where to buy tickets and for our special Elmer competition – there are some brilliant prizes to be won. Or email
