Over 30 young people, as well as adults took part in Grayshott Pottery's first 'Paint a Gift' pottery painting session held this weekend. 'Would be 'artists took to the plates and mugs with brushes and mini rollers filled with colourful glazes, to create their own 'works of art'.
All the finished ceramic pieces are now planned to be fired in the kilns this week, ready for collection from Friday, in time for Mother's Day at the weekend.
Glenn Myers, Production Director said, "We were really delighted with the response to this event. The places filled up very quickly and we are looking forward to seeing the finished pieces at the end of the week. We think there will be some really happy Mums at the weekend when they take possession of their unique gifts".
This event is one of a series of events planned by the Pottery for visitors and residents of all ages. The next event is planned for Saturday 24th April, and participants can learn how to throw their own clay pot, under the watchful eye of expert thrower, Phil Wareham. The resulting pieces will be then glazed and fired and participants will be able to take them home. 'Throw with Phil' costs £15 and bookings are now being taken. Under 16 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.
