Despite continued reports of gloom and doom in some sectors, there have been some positive signs of recovery to the economy at a local level. One such 'green shoot', has been seen in local business Grayshott Stoneware, which is the commercial arm of Grayshott Pottery.

Grayshott Stoneware, that produces restaurant-ware for the food industry, has been able to report a healthier order book of late and in an effort to meet this demand, has also recently been able to take on extra staff.

"Clearly we do take on summer staff each year", said Glenn Myers, Production Manager, "but this year we have taken on a total of 9 staff and out these, 4 are permanent staff. This has been a great morale booster to us all I think!."

"There is no doubt that it has been a difficult year", said Ed Snell, Managing Director Grayshott Pottery/Stoneware, "We really hope that we have seen the worst pass now, but by no means are we counting our chickens. We are grateful that most of our clients have been able to weather the storm and it does give us great pleasure to be able to take on some very promising new staff."
