The Grayshott Conservative Group's Annual Dinner was held in the Fox & Pelican last Friday. Members enjoyed a wonderful meal and were then regaled by some amusing anecdotes by the renowned cricket commenter, Peter Baxter.

Chris Jones, chairman of the Group, reported that besides being one of their best evenings, it also raised needed funds to support our local candidate in the forthcoming General Election. An auction carried out by Ferris Cowper raised £500, with the most popular item being the jewel encrusted gurkha knife he sold. Having wiped the blood off it, and after having the wound in his back attended to, it went on to raise a very considerable sum!

Chris went on to thank members for their support, and made an appeal for new members to join, particularly younger people with an interest in shaping how our country should be governed.
