Last weekend Grayshott Pottery opened its doors to a constant stream of 'would be pottery throwers', when the company held their first 'Have a Go' event. On Saturday afternoon around 40 people took to the wheel to create their own pots and sculptures and many were so delighted with the outcome that these out-coming works will be now be glazed and fired.

One such participant was Beth Arnold from Headley who said, 'I have really enjoyed myself. It has always been something that I have wanted to try!'

Phil Wareham, who ran the event with Dave White said, ''It was a real pleasure to work with our customers in this way and we had an excellent response from those who took part. We would love to offer more people the chance to have a go on the wheel and will be discussing how this can regularly work in the future at the Pottery. We have seen some real raw talent too, and some of these people could, with a bit of practice, be after my job if I'm not careful!'

The Grayshott Pottery business consists of a pottery factory with a viewing area, a large gift-shop, a Studio Art gallery and a coffee shop. The Pottery creates one off pieces for its gallery and for collectors around the UK, as well as the higher volume production for many High Street restaurant brands. Grayshott Pottery also acts as a Visitor Information Centre.
