Since 2004 St Luke's Church Grayshott has played host to a number of world-class musicians performing some of the world's best loved classical music.
And now on Saturday 11th July at 7.30pm, the St Luke's team have succeeded in attracting an exceptionally talented performer to Grayshott with his one-man show "An Audience with Jonathan Veira".
Mr Veira fits the Grayshott audience particularly well. He is an operatic baritone who has delighted audiences at Covent Garden and Glyndebourne with his deeply resonant 'voice to die for' in productions from Falstaff to Sweeney Todd, The Marriage of Figaro to The Bartered Bride. "Yet," says organiser Sheila Austin, "Jonathan is equally endearing to audiences when he sings ballads, jazz, rock 'n' roll and blues while accompanying himself on the piano or guitar."
"What will appeal to our Grayshott audience, most," says co-organiser Helene Sanderson, "is that Jonathan is also a great raconteur, pianist, soul-singer, mimic and guitarist. He's a real musical chameleon!"
St Luke's team member Polly Rhodes agrees. "We're so excited to have Jonathan in Grayshott. It's going to be a wonderful evening."
St Luke's concerts have a reputation for selling out well in advance. Tickets at £10 & £15 are now available from Grayshott Books (01428 604798) or from Sheila Austin (01428 606703 or 713338)
