Grayshott Square Group are very fortunate to have received a recent donation, kindly made by local artist Joan Blacker, of more than 30 of her framed paintings. They are being sold in aid of the Grayshott Square refurbishment scheme due to start early next year and the Group are most grateful for this generous gesture. The paintings raised interest at the local table top sale held in Grayshott Village Hall last Saturday and there will another chance to see them at the Family Fun Fair on Grayshott Village Green on 4th and 5th of July.
Chairman of the Group, Colin Thompson said "This is a great opportunity for someone to own an original piece of artwork and at the same time benefit their local community. We are very pleased at the way the project is progressing and we will be highlighting other ways that people can contribute to The Square such as sponsorship of trees, seats and even paving slabs, in the near future. We have been very lucky to have the services of Peter White and his team from the Village Kitchen Caterers who have served 4 differently themed meals in The Square over the last couple of years, which have proved to be extremely popular with the village. This September he is taking a well-earned break and we are hoping to be in partnership with one of the other restaurants in the village to enjoy another gastronomic occasion. Tickets will be available from Grayshott Books in August!"
