Following on from the successful launch in March, the Greening Grayshott campaign team will soon be taking on the challenge of estimating the carbon footprint of Grayshott.
All households and businesses in Grayshott have received a commitment card which lists 10 ideas to save energy and money at home and at work.
Many of the challenges are quick and easy to do, for example turning off lights when you leave a room or not leaving the tap running when you clean your teeth. At the launch, the cubs demonstrated that leaving the tap running uses around 12 litres or 21 pints of water! (But at the end of the demonstration they did have very clean teeth!)
By committing to 5 or more of the challenges and then displaying the Greening Grayshott card in your window we will be able to assess how much CO2 our village has saved.
Pupils from Grayshott Primary School were given the task of designing their vision of a greener Grayshott. The three winning posters were drawn by: Callum Drain Year 6, Megan Crane Year 5, Oliver Andrews Year 1.
The Grayshott Primary School have showed their commitment to reducing CO2 by displaying their energy saving pledges on a Commitment Tree which was displayed at the Greening Grayshott launch. Let's see if the rest of Grayshott can follow their example!
