Don't miss Grayshott's BIGgest event this year!

Carols in the Square PosterEveryone loves Carol Singing at Christmas! And the biggest and best opportunity for miles around is Grayshott's traditional open-air carol singalong at 7pm on Christmas Eve in Grayshott Square.

Last year, the event attracted almost a thousand people, dwarfing events in Haslemere and other towns and villages throughout the district.

Once again, the singing will be led by Revd Moray Thomas, Vicar of Grayshott, accompanied by Laudate, with refreshments of hot chocolate and jam dodgers served by the Rezurgence group.

"It's wonderful to see so many local people enjoying themselves," says Brenda McGurk. "It's such fun for all the family."

The event, organised by Buy In Grayshott (BIG) in association with Grayshott Concerts, in aid of local good causes, has grown and grown in recent years. Many people say it is the highlight of their lead up to Christmas for young and old alike.

Dick Smith, Co-ordinator of BIG, praised Julie Stevens of Grayshott Books who will provide essential light and power, and Dave Phillips for organising sound enhancement for Rob and Alison Miles of Laudate. "It's going to be another Grayshott success," he said. "We'll provide booklets with all the words - and our members will shake collection buckets. We hope this will be the best result ever." he added.

Entrance is free. Just turn up and start singing. Hot chocolate will be served from 6.30pm. Parking is FREE in Grayshott - 24 hours-a-day. More information from Dick Smith on 01428 608666.
