Fox and Pelican pub customers and bar staff were surprised and delighted to see a bishop pulling a pint of London Pride on Friday evening, 9th October.
The Reverend Ian Brackley, Bishop of Dorking, paid a special visit to the popular Grayshott pub to meet local people and get a feel for their concerns and views. Rob Miles, local resident, said: "Bishop Ian was really friendly and we enjoyed talking to him about the things on our minds like the credit crunch, family matters and the care of the elderly".
Moray Thomas, the vicar of St Luke's Church Grayshott, explained: "the Bishop's visit to the Fox and Pelican shows the Guildford Diocese's commitment to engaging with local people. This chimes in with our aim for St Luke's Church to be of service to our village community"
