The Temperance Seven will jazz-up Grayshott's Sunday Funday

The Temperance SevenGrayshott's mid-summer celebration takes place on Sunday 29th June and culminates with a performance by The Temperance Seven. With hits including 'You're Driving Me Crazy' and 'Pasadena', T7 achieved national fame during the 60's. Since then they have continued to delight audiences with a unique jazz sound and ingeniously humorous compositions.

Leading the 'My Favourite Book' themed street procession will be Batala; a Portsmouth based Samba Band, whose performance has again been sponsored by the Fox and Pelican. According to manager Ben Bagguley, 'last year they created a real Brazilian carnival atmosphere at the event with their exciting drum rhythms, vibrant colours and energetic dance movements'.

There will be plenty of opportunities for al-fresco feasting and other refreshments, such as at the Kaighin & Daughter Hog Roast, Kapadokya BBQ and the Nepalese Gurkha Durbar stalls.

Among the organisations participating will be the 'Square Group'. Following the acquisition of the central precinct by the Parish Council, the group will be available to discuss progress made with plans to transform this area into a community focal point for the village.

After a fun-packed afternoon, the festivities will end at 7.00 pm, with the road re-opening at around 8.00 pm.

Grayshott Sunday Funday is organised by 'Party in Grayshott' a non-commercial, community based group that exists to promote arts & entertainment in the area and raise funds for local worthy causes. Entry is free but please support this community event by giving generously on the day.
