The Grayshott Paella in the Plaza fundraiser held in Grayshott Square was a great success with friends and family, great food and entertainment proving a winning formula once again.
An overwhelming 150 guests attended helping to raise over £1,700 towards the village square refurbishment project. Tickets for this year's event cost £15 and included a three course Spanish meal provided by Village Kitchen Caterers, carefully selected wines and entertainment from local guitarist Murray Crawford. Guests could also take part in the raffle, with many exciting prizes donated by local residents, shops and businesses.

''The food, atmosphere and sense of community spirit have been wonderful'' said one local resident. ''I only wish we could do this every weekend''.
Chairman of the group Colin Thompson said: "The atmosphere has been fantastic. My sincere thanks to everyone involved, especially to all the local people for their on going support and encouragement. It is really wonderful to see the square enjoyed by so many".
The event was organised by The Grayshott Square Group, a group of volunteers working to raise funds and coordinate efforts to smarten and encourage greater use of the square.
Ideas and plans for Grayshott Square will be displayed on Sunday, 29th June during the Sunday Funday held in Grayshott. Local people are welcome to contribute their ideas and suggestions.
