After two very busy days for last week, the Concept Statement display has now gone to Haslemere Town Hall. Following this it will go to Beacon Hill to give people another chance to see the ideas for redevelopment of the London Road area.
The Hindhead Together Partnership wants the local community involved in agreeing on possible opportunities for development within the context of the historical, cultural and environmental assets of the area.
Caroline White, Hindhead Together Co-ordinator, says: "We were delighted that over three hundred and fifty people came to our public community exhibition last week; it gave our experts, The Planning Cooperative, the chance to hear directly from many local residents."
"But we want to give people every opportunity to see and comment on the draft Concept Statement,

which will provide a framework for the more detailed planning process that Waverley Borough Council will develop. Haslemere Town Council has offered the use of the Town Hall where the exhibition material will be accessible on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays within the office hours until Easter. After this it will be at St Albans Church, Beacon Hill until the 30th March. There will be brief questionnaires at both venues for people to complete and return by Friday 28th March.
"We are really pleased to add that the draft Concept Statement will also be available to download on our website www.hindheadtogether.org.uk, providing another alternative method for people to view it and get involved if they are unable to be at either venue within the consultation period," she says.
The Hindhead Together Partnership is constituted as a Joint Advisory Committee which will work together to optimise the community, economic, landscape and ecological benefits arising from the construction of the A3 Hindhead Tunnel scheme. Core members represent Natural England, the National Trust, Surrey Hills, SEEDA, the Highways Agency, Surrey County Council, Waverley Borough Council and Haslemere Town Council. The Hindhead Together Joint Advisory Committee will co-ordinate the work of the members of the Hindhead Together Partnership in delivering the statutory duties and other requirements as they relate to the Hindhead area.
