The people of Grayshott, Headley, Whitehill, Bordon, and Lindford will have a chance to put forward their views on the future of their area at the next meeting of their local Community Forum, being held in the Liphook Millenium Centre at 6.30pm on Tuesday 18 March.
This is the last of the four Community Forums at which East Hampshire District Council is asking residents for their views. These will then be incorporated into the Community Strategy that guides joint work by councils, police, health services and voluntary agencies.
Staff from the District Council's planning service will be asking where and what kind of development is needed to meet these needs. Views will be fed into the 'Core Strategy', the main planning document for the district that will set out how land should be used to meet community needs.
The district council hopes that people will spare an evening at their local Community Forum to have their say. Residents can also comment on-line via the East Hampshire District Council website, www.easthants.gov.uk Links can be found towards the bottom of the home page, from Quick Links and Around the District.
For information about the Community Strategy contact Guy Riddoch, tel: 01730 23 4015, email: guy.riddoch@easthants.gov.uk, or for the Core Strategy, contact Valerie Dobson, tel: 01730 234 213, email: valerie.dobson@easthants.gov.uk
The Forum will be asked to approve the division of the budget between project and revenue funding, with the aim of ensuring that funding is available throughout the financial year for community projects.
It will consider bids of £2,000 for Headley Village Hall Trustees and £910 for Headley Youth Football Club from the Community Project Fund, and there are revenue bids for the financial year 2008/2009 from Brendoncare Club Hampshire - £2,000; Relate Basingstoke and District - £2,000; and Liphook Lightshow - £450.
Forum members will consider a request for the allocation of developer contributions to part- fund a two-year pilot called the 'Wheels to Work' project. The original report, delivered to the Forum on 22 January, was deferred in order to explore alternative funding, in particular the Local Authority Business Growth Incentive Grants (LABGIG).
The Forum will also consider a request from Lindford Parish Council to release developer contributions of £20,355 towards work at the Triangle Playground, Lindford.
