Over 1400 young people flocked to Butserfest this year amid blue skies and sunshine. The festival, now in its second year, was organised by East Hants District Council and took place at Queen Elizabeth Country Park near Petersfield. It welcomed young people from all over the county to listen to young bands and to take part in some fun events organised by local companies.
One of the sponsoring businesses was employee owned Grayshott Pottery whose staff showed young people the art of 'throwing a pot'. Glenn Myers, Production Manager from the Pottery said, 'We are again delighted to be able to support this very worthwhile event. I think everyone had a lot of fun and we look forward to supporting the event again next year!'
Ferris Cowper, leader of East Hampshire District Council, said: "Butserfest 08 was a terrific success. "We nearly doubled ticket sales and everyone had a fantastic time. "The event was sponsored by a number of businesses and this proved to be a wonderful partnership."
