The festive season arrived in Grayshott last week heralded by the traditional switching on of the Christmas Lights which adorn the trees outlining the village greens. Santa, pictured above, made an early appearance to hand out sweets from his BIG sack to the many onlookers including Buy In Grayshott members who had just finished their meeting in the Fox & Pelican.
The Christmas tree has arrived in the square and the small army of helpers enjoyed the task of collecting and erecting as did the onlookers who gasped with amazement at their antics. Darren from Coxhead & Welch seemed to be particularly enjoying himself and the event was captured for posterity and the grayshott gallery by a passing reporter. The lights in the square will be switched on to coincide with the Christmas Market this coming Saturday at 4pm
The Grayshott Christmas Market organised by BIG is in the village hall this year with a fabulous range of stalls and all sorts of great gift ideas including classic wooden toys, candles and jewellery and much more!.... The Square Group are selling mulled wine and mince pies to raise funds for the refurbishment of the square and there will also be hot chocolate, waffles, cookies, roast chestnuts and the traditional Kaighins hog roast. Children are invited to meet santa in his Magical Grotto to receive a free gift and have a ride on his carousel.
The following day is a special Christmas concert in St Luke's Church organised by Grayshott Concerts It's Christmas! with Excelsis and Choristers of St Edmunds. Tickets have sold out but some returns may be available please check the Grayshott Concerts website www.grayshottconcerts.co.uk
