Party in Grayshott today presented Jon Hills, Grayshott Primary School Head teacher, with a cheque for £600 towards the refurbishment of the school hall. The donation is from the proceeds of the recent sell out Pantomime in Grayshott - Jack & The Beanstalk - which included members of the schools Gold Class (Year 6) and staff members. The hall refurbishment includes new 'stage' lighting & controller, ceiling microphones and a new CD player.

David Phillips, Producer of Pantomime in Grayshott and PiG Secretary/Treasurer, explained that the link with the school and the Pantomime was an important element in the annual community event and one he hoped would continue.

"At Grayshott Primary School we put a big emphasis on the performing arts which was recognised with our recent Artsmark Award and we appreciate this annual opportunity to work with the village on such a polished public performance. The kind donation will help towards making our school performances even better with new audio/visual resources, we are really grateful for the continued support of the community and this generous donation from PiG," said Jon Hills Head teacher.

Party in Grayshott is a non-commercial, community based group that exists to promote arts & entertainment in the area and raise funds for local worthy causes; since 2001 it has donated over £16,000 to local community projects and groups. The next PiG event is Grayshott Sunday Funday on Sunday 29th June when amongst other attractions Grayshott School Choir and Maypole dancers will be performing.
