Local Fire Fighter Paul Jenkins was presented with a long service award by Deputy Chief Fire Officer David Curry recently.

Paul has served at Grayshott Fire Station for 20 years and the award was in recognition of his commitment to the service during this period. "I felt very honoured to receive the award" said Paul "the fire service has changed a lot in the 20 years that I have served and we have seen a dramatic reduction in the number of life threatening incidents we attend. This is principally down to the community fire safety projects we are promoting and the increase in car safety technology".

Grayshott Fire Station are currently running a number of initiatives to promote a safer community which include fire safety visits, educational talks, sector specific programmes and risk assessments.
