Grayshott's SeaRaj is opening its doors for Sunday lunchtime bookings. The move comes from customer requests to host group parties and already Don Kamali, the owner of the SeaRaj has experimented with one-off pre-ordered lunches.
Sunday bookings can be made for parties of 8 or more. Parties of over 26 will be able to book exclusive use of the restaurant The full normal menu will be available
As part of the move to open on Sundays, Don Kamali is introducing a special Sundays only set "degoustation" menu originating from a typical special Indian Wedding feast at £45.00 per head including wine.
"As far as I'm aware, the Indian Wedding feast has never been served in an English Indian restaurant and we are making it as authentic as possible. It is made up of many dishes and is roughly equivalent to a French degoustation - it really is a feast for special occasions were time is not of the essence" comments Don Kamali.
Born in London, Don Kamali, comes from a long fishing heritage from the Bay of Bengal. Being in the UK, he has been unable to follow the family tradition of being a fisherman. Nonetheless, he still has the family ingrained passion for fish for as long as he can remember, starting by learning the traditional cooking techniques from his mother.
 Today, he is one of the few chefs specialising in the delicate and varied flavours of Bengali fish cuisine. Many dishes, whilst common in India, have never been placed before the sophisticated pallet of the great British diner. Virtually every town in the UK has an Indian restaurant, but until today, not one offers simply seafood. The SeaRaj in Grayshott, Hampshire is the first dedicated Indian seafood restaurant in the UK. Now, nine months after opening, the SeaRaj's reputation brings clientele from as far a field as London, Brighton and Winchester.
